Our History

divider
Over the last 30 years, Dr Philip Leith and Dr Janice March have built a team of associate dentists, nurses and hygienists blending thoughtfulness and clinical ability to create a distinctive approach to dentistry. Fixing patients’ dental problems is a large part of what we do.

We are an independent dental surgery by choice. We are not affiliated with any third party corporate or health insurance company. Most of our services are covered by private health insurance rebates, and are claimable at our office on the day of your treatment.

We are registered to offer subsidised services to eligible patients via the Medicare Child Dental Benefits Scheme. We have HICAPS facilities to make your claiming easier, and welcome Department of Veteran Affairs card holders to our practice.

Our practice aims for excellence in 4 areas:

1. Providing a comprehensive dental service to the Launceston community inclusive of all demographics.
2. Striving to improve our patients' oral health and help them to maintain it throughout all stages of their lives.
3. Encouraging a genuine rapport with our patients and listening to their concerns.
4. Managing a capable and well-resourced dental team.

Community Outreach

divider

We donate annually to the Australian Dental Research Foundation which benefits us all with advancements in dental science and technology.  We give funds to the Examiner Winter Relief Appeal and local Tasmanian children's charities. We regularly visit Eskleigh Nursing Home at Longford and see many disabled patients in our practice.

We collect used dental home care products and packaging for recycling through Terracycle. (Yes, we take empty toothpaste tubes and scruffy toothbrushes). And promote “1 Drop in a Greener Ocean’s” range of environmentally sustainable dental products such as silk floss and biodegradable flossettes.
