Our Services

Preventive Dentistry

Dentistry aims to identify the drivers of disease for each individual patient, and focus on practical strategies limiting these factors. We want to work with our patients to help you tailor a program that prevents dental disease.

Emergency Dentistry

Many of our most loyal patients came to see us originally due to an unfortunate experience like an old filling falling out, a tooth chipping or dental pain. These things happen - and our highly skilled dentists deal with them non-judgmentally.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are a modern innovation to replace missing single teeth, rows of teeth or whole arches of teeth. Our practice uses 3D imaging and a computerised planning system to develop an implant treatment plan.

Wisdom Teeth Removal

Wisdom teeth are the third set of molar teeth which grows at 18-24 years of age. They may not grow through the gums properly and can cause problems for the gums or other back teeth.

Braeside Dental Surgery

Braeside Dental Surgery was established in 1986 by Dr Philip Leith. Dr Janice March began her practising life at Braeside in 1994, forming the partnership in 2000. Over the next few decades, they concentrated on building a team of associate dentists, nurses and hygienists blending thoughtfulness and clinical ability to create a distinctive approach to dentistry. Fixing patients’ dental problems is a large part of what we do.

We are an independent dental surgery by choice. We are not affiliated with any third party corporate or health insurance company. Most of our services are covered by private health insurance rebates, and are claimable at our office on the day of your treatment.

We are registered to offer subsidised services to eligible patients via the Medicare Child Dental Benefits Scheme. We have HICAPS facilities to make your claiming easier, and welcome Department of Veteran Affairs card holders to our practice.

Infection Control

Your Safety

divider
At Braeside we follow all Australian Standards regarding infection prevention in the dental office setting. Our surgeries are thoroughly wiped down after every treatment and the instruments are reprocessed. Some disposable plastic barriers are used on non-sterilisable equipment. We have a purpose built sterilising room containing five autoclaves and a dedicated sterilising assistant each day who is not distracted from their vitally important job by other tasks such as reception duties or dental assisting. Our staff are all highly trained and have achieved their Certificate 3 in Dental Assisting.

We already had a high level of infection control, but after the COVID19 pandemic we have been additionally:
  1. Requiring all patients to use hand sanitiser and mouthrinse before each treatment.
  2. Ensuring social distances are maintained in the waiting room and whenever staff are not wearing their personal protective equipment.
  3. Using rubber dams for most fillings and more extensive treatments to limit the spread of infection via aerosols.
  4. Screening all patients for respiratory symptoms before their appointment.
Your safety has always been our priority and we appreciate that some patients are more at risk than others, so are happy to schedule appointments appropriately.
